The unit 7 (A7 for short) was a winged test rocket developed between 1940 and 1943 at the Peenemünde Army Research Center for the German Navy , which was planned as a preliminary stage to the unit 9 missile that was no longer implemented. Its structure corresponded to the unit 5 , but it had larger tail fins (1.621 m²) in order to achieve greater ranges in gliding flight.

Only two unpowered Aggregat 7 models were dropped from aircraft to test flight stability. The finished rocket should have generated a launch thrust of 15 kN and would have had a launch mass of 1,000 kg, a diameter of 0.38 m and a length of 5.91 m.
