Agnes Merlet

Agnès Merlet (born January 4, 1959 ) is a French film director and screenwriter.

Life

After studying art in Orléans , she went to IDHEC and started making short films. Poussière d'étoiles brought her the 1986 Jean Vigo Prize for best short film. Her first feature film Le Fils du requin received a European Film Award in Berlin in 1994 , today in the category of Best Newcomer Film. The biography Artemisia consolidated her international importance as a feminist filmmaker.
