Agnes von Krusenstjerna (ca.1930)

Agnes von Krusenstjerna ( pronunciation : [ ˌaŋːnəs fɔnˈkɹʉːsənʃæːɳa ], born October 9, 1894 in Växjö ; † March 10, 1940 in Stockholm ) was a Swedish writer .

Life

Von Krusenstjerna belonged to a well-known Swedish noble family. However, throughout her life she rebelled against the milieu into which she was born. The rebellion is particularly evident in her literary work, which focuses on three major cycles of novels. In 1921 she married David Sprengel , who was not in keeping with her class, with whom she worked closely.

With her seven-part cycle " Fräulein von Pahlen " (Fröknarna von Pahlen, 1930–1935) she sparked a heated literary debate on pornography and literary freedom in Sweden. At times her own publishing house suppressed her works.

Agnes von Krusenstjerna's life was dealt with in the film " Amorosa " (1988), "Die Frau von Pahlen" in "Loving Couples" (1964).
