The Agnesburgtunnel is a motorway tunnel on the federal motorway 7 near Aalen between the junctions Aalen / Westhausen and Aalen / Oberkochen. The 707 m long tunnel was built between 1983 and 1986 on behalf of the interior ministries of Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria and cost 32.8 million DM (in today's purchasing power 30 million €). Construction began on December 19, 1983. Both tunnel tubes were driven using the New Austrian Tunneling Method from north to south (from bottom to top). The tunnel was driven by around five meters per day, the breakthrough of the first tunnel tube was on July 31, 1984. The tunnel was opened to traffic on December 18, 1987.

The tube in the direction of Ulm ( Albaufstieg ) has three lanes, the tube in the direction of Würzburg has two lanes. The tunnel has as safety precautions z. B. graduated speed limits in front of the tunnel, variable message signs in the tunnel, SOS stations, at the portals and in the cross tunnel each with a hydrant and backlighting .
