After several fires, a Renaissance church was built between 1558 and 1561. After the destruction during the Swedish Flood , the church was rebuilt in the Baroque style from 1660 to 1680. In the 18th century, the St. Bernard Sisters moved to St. Joseph's Church in Old Town . The church currently serves as a garrison church . In 1993 General Józef Haller was buried in the church.
