Agni-Air-Flug AG-CHT was a domestic flight of the Nepalese airline Agni Air from Pokhara to Jomsom . On May 14, 2012, the Dornier Do-228 crashed after an unsuccessful go-around maneuver. There were 18 passengers, 2 pilots and 1 flight attendant on board. 15 people, including the two pilots, were killed in the crash.

Agni Air is a Nepalese airline that only offers domestic flights. From Kathmandu there are flights to Bhadrapur , Bhairahawa , Biratnagar , Jomsom , Lukla , Pokhara and Tumlingtar . Individual travelers, trekking tourists and pilgrims in particular use the small airline's flight connections.

The plane was on a domestic flight from Pokhara to Jomsom . When the approach to landing on Jomson failed at around 9.45 a.m. local time in clear weather, the pilots initiated a go - around maneuver . The airplane hit a mountain with one wing and crashed. Shortly before, the pilots had reported problems with the instruments via air radio .

The flight data recorder and voice recorder of the accident machine were recovered a few days later. They were first handed over to the Nepalese Civil Aviation Authority, which then decided whether they needed to be taken abroad for further analysis.
