Agnieszka Duczmal (born January 7, 1946 in Krotoszyn ) is a Polish conductor and founder of the Poznan Amadeus Orchestra .

Duczmal began studying music in 1966 at the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Music Academy in Poznan . While still a student, she founded a chamber orchestra in 1968 . 1971–1972 she was employed as the conductor's assistant at the Poznan Philharmonic.

The chamber orchestra she directed was taken over by the Polish Radio in 1977 and renamed the Amadeus Chamber Orchestra in 1988 .

She has appeared as a guest conductor with many philharmonic orchestras. She was the first female conductor to lead the Scala Orchestra in Milan.

The Amadeus Orchestra has performed on many tours in Poland and abroad. Martha Argerich , Mischa Maisky and Henryk Szeryng played as soloists . Numerous sound recordings were made for the Polish radio and for well-known record companies such as ASV Records, Wergo , ADDA, Canyon Classics, AMF, Europa Musica and Vienna Modern Masters.

The program focuses on Mozart's works.

Agnieszka Duczmal is married to the double bass player of the Amadeus Orchestra Józef Jaroszewski. Her daughter Anna Jaroszewska-Mróz also became a conductor.

In 1982 she received the title "La Donna del Mondo" from the President of Italy.

In 1998 she was awarded the “Polonia Restituta” medal.

She has been an honorary citizen of Krotoszyn since 2010 and an honorary citizen of Poznan since 2015.
