Agony was a Swedish thrash metal band from Solna , which was founded in 1984 under the name Agoni and split up after 1988.

history

The band was founded in August 1984 under the name Agoni. A short time later, drummer Tommy Moberg and guitarist Magnus Sjölin joined the cast. This was followed by a tour of Great Britain in June and July 1986 with the Swedish hardcore punk band Anti Cimex . In March before, the band had released their first demo The Future Is Ours , which was followed by the second Demi Execution of Mankind in August , with the band now called Agony. In 1987 the band reached a contract with Music for Nations .

In 1988 their first and only album The First Defiance was released . The album was released in North America on Combat Records . Two guitarists could be heard on the album. Guitarist Pelle Ström was kicked out of the band before Christmas 1987. He later played in bands such as The Krixhjälters (later Omitron ) and Comecon . After the album was released, the band broke up.

The band played fast Thrash Metal, with the vocals mostly comprising deeper screaming typical of Thrash Metal .
