The Agoudimos Lines was a Greek shipping company that was founded in 1991 and operated several ferries . In July 2013, the shipping company stopped ferry operations due to financial difficulties.

history

Agoudimos Lines was founded in 1991 in Piraeus . The shipping company's first ship was the Kapetan Alexandros , which entered service as the Doric Ferry in 1962 . In the following years, the shipping company bought additional used ships for ferry operations off Greece. At the time of their dissolution, the Agoudimos fleet consisted of a total of four ships.

In July 2013 Agoudimos Lines ran into financial difficulties, as a result of which the wages of the employed crew members could not be paid. One of the shipping company's ships was arrested for the same reason the previous year. The crew members of the Penelope A then refused to leave the ferry in the port of Rafina and went on strike. All of the shipping company's ships were arrested and offered for sale. Most of the former units of Agoudimos Lines have now been scrapped or are still in service. Only the former Ionian Spirit is in active service as St. Damian .
