Aharon Jariv

Aharon Rabinowitsch Jariv (born December 20, 1920 in Moscow , † May 7, 1994 in Tel Aviv ) was an Israeli politician and military, most recently in the rank of major general ( Aluf ).

Life

At the age of 15 Jariv immigrated to Palestine and attended the Pardes Hanna Agricultural High School . In 1938 he was in the Haganah and later in the British Army ; after that he was with the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). From 1964 to 1972 he was the head of the intelligence service of the Israel Defense Forces Aman . From January 21, 1974 to May 16, 1977 he was a member of the Knesset .

Jariv was also Minister of Transport and Information ( Avoda ) until February 4, 1975 .
