Ahmad al-Bahri ( Arabic أحمد البحري, DMG Aḥmad al-Baḥrī ; * September 18, 1980 ) is a former Saudi Arabian soccer player . He won the Saudi Arabian Championship once and was on the squad for the 2006 World Cup .
Career
al-Bahri played for several years in Dammam with al-Ettifaq and in 2005 switched to the capital city club and then master al-Shabab . With him as reinforcement on the right side of defense, the title was defended in 2006.
Although he was already in the extended selection in 2002, Ahmad al-Bahri only made his debut in the Saudi Arabian national team on February 9, 2005 . He played most of the games in the successful qualification for the 2006 World Cup in Germany and ousted the experienced Ahmad ad-Duchi in his position . Both players were in Saudi Arabia's World Cup squad , but al-Bahri was left without action.
After the World Cup, he returned to al-Ettifaq, but joined al-Nasr a year later . There he stayed for three seasons, but could not intervene with his team in the battle for the championship. In 2010 he moved again to al-Ettifaq. After playing for al-Faisaly FC for a year in the meantime, he retired in 2013.
