Ahmed bin Hamad al-Khalili
Ahmed bin Hamad al-Khalili ( Arabic أحمد بن حمد الخليلي, DMG Aḥmad b. Ḥamad al-Ḫalīlī ; * July 27, 1942 on the island of Zanzibar ) is Grand Mufti of the Sultanate of Oman . He moved to Oman with his family in 1964 .
He was one of the signatories of the Amman Message ( Amman Message ). He was one of the 24 personalities who wrote a fatwa (legal opinion).
He was one of the 138 signatories of the open letter a common word between us and you ( Engl. A Common Word Between Us and You ), the personalities of Islam to "leaders of Christian churches everywhere" (Engl. "Leaders of Christian Churches, everywhere ... ") (October 13, 2007).
