Ahmed Mahmoud Osman Darwish ( Arabic أحمد درويش Ahmad Darwisch , DMG Aḥmad Darwīš , mostly listed as Ahmed M. Darwish ; * May 25, 1959 in Cairo ) is an Egyptian politician .

Life

Darwish received his Master of Science degree in Electronics and Telecommunications from Cairo University in 1981 . He studied from 1984 at the University of California where he received his doctorate in electrical engineering and computer science in 1988 . He then acted as a consultant in Egyptian institutions and authorities such as the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the Middle East News Agency (MENA), the Supreme Council of Antiquities, the National Water Research Center (NWRC), the technical department of the Ministry of Irrigation and Water Management (MED) and the Tourism Development Authority (TDA). He also worked in an advisory capacity in international organizations such as UNESCO ( Food and Agriculture Organization ), the European Union and the World Bank . As an advisor to the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology under Ahmed Nazif , Darwish led an e-government project. Ahmed Mahmoud Osman Darwish is considered a liberal reformer who managed to dissolve administrative structures.

Ahmed M. Darwish was Minister of State for Administrative Development from October 5, 1999 to July 9, 2004 in the Abaid Cabinet and from July 9, 2004 to January 29, 2011 in the Nazif Cabinet .
