Aidas Preikšaitis (born July 15, 1970 in Akmenė ) is a former Lithuanian football player and national player of the Lithuanian national football team .

Career

The 1.81 meter tall midfielder began his career in 1990 with VMFD Žalgiris Vilnius . He made his debut at the Soviet Football Cup . With Vilnius he won the Lithuanian Football Cup and the championship several times. He was under contract there for seven years. From 1997 to 2004 he was active abroad. In early 1997 he signed a contract with Torpedo Moscow . On March 17 of the year he made his debut in the game against Shinnik Yaroslavl . He played six games in the Premjer League and 16 games at the 1997 UEFA Intertoto Cup , scoring one goal. In August 1997 he moved to Kamas Naberezhnye Chelny and made his debut in a game against his ex-club Torpedo, which was lost 3-1. In the winter of 1997/98 he moved to the Polish club GKS Katowice . In the further course of his career he was alternately active in Poland and Germany . He returned to Lithuania twice, in 2001 to the VMFD Žalgiris Vilnius association and at the end of his career from 2004 to 2006 under contract with the former Vėtra Vilnius association . The association was dissolved in 2010 due to insolvency. In 2006 he ended his career. From 1992 to 2006 he played 48 international matches in the Lithuanian national soccer team (3 goals).
