Mirrored in Secrecy is a dark metal band from Germany.

history

Mirrored in Secrecy was founded in 2003 by David Timsit as a solo project. The original name of the project at that time was mirror negatives. After the publication of the first demo Fall of Leaves in late summer 2003, the project paused until Timsit moved from Munich to Cologne . There the musician grouped the first live formation, consisting of him as a singer, Jeremy Iskandar ( guitar ), Christian Peters (guitar), Tobias Conrady ( electric bass ) and Daniel Bendel ( drums ).

This was followed by two self-produced mini-albums in this line-up: Devotion (released 2007) and Truth (released 2009). At the end of 2009, the print magazine Sonic Seducer selected Mirrored in Secrecy to participate in the top 50 of the Battle-of-the-Bands competition they organized. By participating, the band was able to attract the attention of the label ZYX Music , for whose sampler Gothic Spirits 12 they contributed the song Craving for the Sin in 2010 .

At the end of 2010 bassist Tobias Conrady left for professional reasons and was replaced by Johanna Neumann. In addition, Julia Kahlert joined the band as a second singer. In spring 2011 Mirrored took part in the world record event "40 Bands - 1 Day - 1 Stage" in Secrecy, which was organized by the Hard Rock Café and earned them a mention in the Guinness Book of Records . At the end of 2011 the group signed a record deal with Echozone / Bob Media and recorded their debut CD Day of Renewal in the Gernhart Studio with Martin Buchwalter.

In 2013, band head David Timsit and the rest of the line-up split up after the last show together at the Winter Ends Festival due to different goals. The following EP Black Halo was recorded and produced by Timsit itself and was released on April 26, 2013.

The second studio album Solitution will be released on June 16, 2017 and includes a guest appearance by ex-singer Julia Kahlert.

style

The music style offered includes elements of the early phase of Gothic Metal with influences from Scandinavian Melodic Death Metal and nuances of the genres Symphonic Metal and Dark Rock . Mirrored in Secrecy combine three singing styles: female and male clear singing, as well as guttural singing .
