Ailo Gaup (motocross rider)

Ailo Gaup (Ailo Mikkelsen Gaup, nickname: Iceman ; born January 22, 1979 in Tromsø ) is a Sami - Norwegian Freestyle Motocross (FMX) rider. Alongside Mathieu Rebeaud , he has dominated the European freestyle motocross landscape for the past two years. He started his motorsport career at the age of five with snowmobile races . He switched to the motocross machine in 1993 before switching to freestyle motocross in 2000. He is now a professional and can live from the prize money and entry fees paid. In 2005 he was the first rider to jump an underflip, a mixture of 360 and backflip. He was the first European to be invited to an X-Games competition in the field of freestyle motocross.

His mother Laila Stien is a well-known Norwegian children's author (My brother the champion).
