Aimée Rapin

Aimée Rapin (born December 14, 1868 in Payerne , † May 8, 1956 in Geneva ) was a Swiss artist .

Life

Aimée Rapin was the sister of the politician Oscar Rapin . She took painting lessons from Théophile Bischoff , Henri Hébert , Hugues Bovy and Barthélemy Menn and was noticed at the Paris World's Fair in 1889 , whereupon she traveled through Europe and North Africa. In 1887 she was a founding member of the Société de secours entre artistes et amis des beaux-arts in Geneva. Her "work comprises around 3,000 portraits, nudes, still lifes and landscapes (especially pastel pictures)".
