Ain't Dead Yet was a Swiss hard rock band that existed in the 1990s. The founder and head of the band was the former crocus and killer guitarist Many Maurer .

history

Ain't Dead Yet are brought to life in the early 1990s by ex-Netz- and killer guitarist Many Maurer. Together with drummer Dani Crivelli, bassist Tony Castell, singer David Leach and second guitarist Marcel Infanger, the five are touring as a rock cover band through Switzerland, Austria and Germany and playing a total of over 250 concerts. The live album Alive MCMXCII is a witness of this time. You can hear songs from ZZ Top , Krokus, Sammy Hagar , Ted Nugent , Steppenwolf and Judas Priest , among others . After completing the tour, Many Maurer decided to develop his own song material. For this purpose, the band temporarily withdrew.

1996 Ain't Dead Yet are back with a new album and a new line-up . Read Your Mind consists entirely of their own songs, which are musically arranged a little more modern and technically more demanding than the songs you have previously covered. At that time the band consisted of Many Maurer and Tony Castell, singer Andy Portmann and drummer Peter Haas. After a tour through Switzerland with Igor Gianola as an additional guitarist, the band split up in 1998.

Shortly afterwards Gianola became the new guitarist at UDO , while Many Maurer and Peter Haas joined Krokus again in 1999 and played on the album Round 13 . In 2001, Maurer founded the rock cover band Grand Mothers Painkiller , in which singer David Leach was once again part of the party.

Crocus Connection

Most of the Ain't Dead Yet musicians were members of the Swiss cult band Krokus at some point. Many Maurer, Tony Castell and Peter Haas can be heard on the 1990 album Stampede , while Dani Crivelli joined the band in 1988 for the album Heart Attack . Maurer was to be found in all incarnations of Krokus from 1990 to 2000, initially as a guitarist, later as a bassist and also as a producer. Peter Haas returned to the band in 1999 for the album Round 13 . Tony Castell returned to the band as bass player in 2001, where he played until 2007. Marcel Infanger toured Switzerland in 1990/91 with the band "Purple Heart" in the opening act for Krokus. Andy Portmann was there in 1995 for the album and the tour for the Krokus album "To rock or not to be" and in 1999 for the album "Round 13" as a background singer.
