Ainios (mythology)
Ainios ( ancient Greek Αἴνιος ) is a person from Greek mythology .
It appears only in the 21st book of Homer's Iliad . He is one of the pioneers who were slain by Achilles in an attack by the Greeks against the Trojans and their allies during the Trojan War in the Xanthos river bed . Besides Ainios, Achilles kills the Paionians Thersilochus , Astypylos , Mydon , Thrasios , Mnesos and Ophelestes .
