Airbag is a Spanish power pop band from Málaga .

Band history

Airbag was founded in 1998 in Estepona , a city on the Costa del Sol. The band has its roots in punk rock and surf rock based on the Californian model. In the first few years they toured Spain and released two demos before releasing their debut album Mondo cretino on the Wild Punk Records label in 2000 . They attracted enough attention for a record deal with the newly founded BMG spin-off El Ejército Rojo . But after the release of the second album Ensamble Cohetes in March 2003, the contract was dissolved again.

In the following years they continued to develop stylistically in the direction of Power Pop and also moved to the capital Madrid . Further albums appeared again on the smaller wild punk label. With their sixth studio album in 15 years, Gotham te necesita , they made it into the Spanish charts for the first time in 2015 .
