Attractions
The city of Estepona has many sights such as the clock tower, municipal museums, a bullring, the San Luis Castle or the Church of Los Remedios and the Los Pedregales Park. In the city park, also known as San Isidro Labrador, stands the pilgrimage chapel of St. Isidros.
Particularly noteworthy are the “Torres Almenaras” towers with Muslim-Castilian origins. They are evidence of a defensive structure that lasted until the 19th century. To defend against the Spaniards during the Conquista and against pirates, the Christians built a bulwark of towers, from which smoke signals were sent during the day and light signals at night. The goal was to be quick to give notice of a possible invasion by enemies. 7 such towers can be found along the 21 km long coastline: torre de Arroyo Vaquero, torre de Saladavieja o celada vieja, torre del Padrón o Paredón, torre del Velerín, torre de Guadalmansa o Desmochada, torre del Saladillo and torre de Casasola o Baños .
In September 2012 "La Ruta de Murales Artísticos de Estepona" (Estepona's Route of Artistic Wall Paintings) was implemented.
