Trivia
On the occasion of the world premiere of the film The Smurfs on June 16, 2011 in Júzcar, all the facades of the village were colored blue, including the church and tombstones. In a vote at the end of 2011, residents were asked whether the houses should remain blue or should be returned to their original white condition. 33 residents voted against, 141 residents in favor. This means that Júzcar will remain blue and is therefore the first Smurf Village in the world.
