Aisawanya Areyawattana ( Thai : ไอ ศ วร ร ยา อริยะ วัฒนา ; born August 18, 1983 in central Thailand ) is a Thai fortune teller and film actress . She is the leading actress in the German-Thai film Patong Girl, which was awarded the 2016 Grimme Prize .

Areyawattana completed a degree in communication science in Bangkok . In her film debut in 2006 she played the lead role in the Thai love drama "Phleng Sutthai" ("The Last Song"). In it she plays a travesty dancer who - contrary to her principles - falls in love with a guest.

In Germany she became known with the film Patong Girl by Susanna Salonen . In it she portrays a mysterious Thai woman with whom a young German tourist falls in love. In the course of the film it turns out that she used to be a male sex, so a Kathoey (vulgo: "Ladyboy") is. The transsexuality of the character portrayed by Areyawattana finds its counterpart in that of the actress.
