Aisling Bea , born Aisling O'Sullivan (* 16th March 1984 in Kildare ) is an Irish actress , playwright and comedian .

Life

Born as Aisling O'Sullivan, she later dropped her family name to avoid confusion with the Irish actress of the same name, Aisling O'Sullivan .

Bea studied French and Philosophy at Trinity College Dublin , where she graduated in 2006. She then completed her artistic training at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art .

In 2009 she had her first engagement in three episodes of the television series Fair City and has since acted in a variety of television series, including Come Fly with Me (2010), Lewis - Der Oxford Krimi (2011), The Fall - Death in Belfast ( 2016) and Hard Sun (2018).

Bea lives in London .

Awards

In 2012 Bea was awarded the Gilded Balloon for the best stand-up comedy performance of the year. In 2014 she received the British Comedy Award for best television comedian of the year.
