Aisling Walsh
Aisling Walsh (* 1958 in Dublin ) is an Irish film director.
Life
Aisling Walsh is a graduate of the National Film and Television School in Beaconsfield, UK and the Dún Laoghaire Institute of Art in Dún Laoghaire near Dublin. She has received over 25 international awards as a producer and director for her TV films and series.
Her film Song for a Raggy Boy was named best film at the Copenhagen International Film Festival . In 2017 she was represented with her film Maudie with Sally Hawkins in the leading role at the Berlinale 2017 in the section “Berlinale Special Gala”.
In 2018 she was appointed to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences , which awards the Oscars every year.
