Aitor Galdós Alonso (born November 9, 1979 in Ermua ) is a former Spanish cyclist .

Career

In 1997, Aitor Galdos first drew attention to himself when he became the Spanish junior cycling champion. In 2003 he became a professional with the Spanish team Labarca-2 Cafés Baqué and won a stage of the Circuito Montañés . After a year he moved to the Japanese team Nippo . With three wins, his second year as a professional was also his most successful.

In 2005 Galdós returned to Europe and signed a contract with the Italian team Ceramiche Panaria-Navigare , for which he won a stage each of the Tour de la Région Wallonne and the Tour of Denmark in 2006. From 2007 to 2010 he drove for the Basque Euskaltel-Euskadi team . His best results during this time were a second place on the first stage of the Tour of Poland 2010 and third place in the Gran Premio de Llodio 2008 , on the second stage of the Tour of Luxembourg in 2009 and on the second stage of the Tour of Catalonia in 2010 .

In 2011 he moved to the Spanish team Caja Rural , for which he drove until 2012. In addition to a third place on the fourth stage of the Tour of Andalusia 2011 , he was able to finish in the top five several times in the Tour of Catalonia 2011 . In 2012 he won the sprint ranking of the Burgos Tour . He then ended his cycling career.
