Aketza Peña
Aketza Peña Iza (born March 4, 1981 in Zalla ) is a Spanish cyclist .
Aketza Peña began his international career in 2004 with the Basque cycling team Euskaltel-Euskadi . At the Vuelta a Castilla y León 2006 , the Basque was narrowly beaten second on the last stage behind the overall winner Alexander Vinokurow .
On April 24, 2007, Peña tested positive for the muscle building compound nandrolone during the Trentino tour . After this test result became known during the Giro d'Italia 2007 , his team suspended him and he had to leave the race. He was banned for two years with effect from January 11, 2008.
After his suspension expired in 2010 he drove for the Spanish Continental Team Caja Rural . He then devoted himself more to cyclocross and won the bronze medal at the Spanish championships in this discipline in 2014.
