Akihiro Imai

Akihiro Imai ( Japanese 今井 彰 宏 , Imai Akihiro ; born January 14, 1970 ) is a Japanese badminton player and coach.

Career

Akihiro Imai graduated from Osaka University of Economics . Akihiro Imai was Japanese mixed master with Miwa Kai in 1993 and 1994 . In 1993 and 1999 he reached second place in doubles. In 1996 and 1997 he took part in the Japanese championships for adults, where he also reached second place in doubles. At the 1993 World Championships, however, he started mixed with Haruko Matsuda and was 33rd. At the same event, he also finished 65th in the men's doubles.

He is the head coach of the works team of Renesas Semiconductor Kyūshū / Yamaguchi, a subsidiary of Renesas Electronics , which includes players such as Mizuki Fujii , Kana Itō , Reika Kakiiwa , Miyuki Maeda and Satoko Suetsuna .
