Akonolinga is a municipality in Cameroon in the Center region . The town of the same name belonging to the municipality is the capital of the Nyong-et-Mfoumou district . Akonolinga is located about 100 kilometers east of Cameroon's capital Yaoundé on the Nyong River .

In the 2005 census, the parish had 47,561 residents, with 19,282 residing in the town of Akonolinga itself and the remainder in villages around the town.

According to information on the CVUC website , the community now has over 80,000 inhabitants.

Transport links

The 12 km long provincial road P23 coming from Ekoua connects Akonolinga with the national road N10 from Yaoundé to Bertoua .

Sports

The football club FS d'Akonolinga played in the Cameroonian Première Division in the 1980s and 2000s .
