Akram Khan

Akram Khan 2010

Akram Khan (born July 29, 1974 in London ) is a British dancer and choreographer . Due to the Bangladeshi origin of his family, he dealt with the Indian dance style Kathak as a child . He later became involved in contemporary dance , including at De Montfort University and the Northern School of Contemporary Dance . In 2000 Khan founded his own dance company, with which he is invited to guest performances worldwide.

Khan was one of the choreographers for the 2012 Summer Olympics opening ceremony .
