Al-Bakri is a small lunar crater on the northwestern edge of Mare Tranquillitatis , west-northwest of the conspicuous Pliny crater . It is located south of the eastern foothills of the Montes Haemus mountain range , which border the Mare Serenitatis in the north. The Rimae Maclear run to the south .

Al-Bakri is circular and bowl-shaped and shows a small crater floor in the center of the sloping inner walls.

The crater was referred to as Tacquet A before it was given its current name by the IAU after the Spanish-Arab geographer and historian Abu Abdullah Al-Bakri .
