Al-Riffa Sports Club is a football club from West Riffa in Bahrain . The club currently plays in the country's highest league, the Bahraini Premier League . The club plays its home games in the national stadium in Bahrain. The club was founded in 1953 by the later Prime Minister Chalifa ibn Salman Al Chalifa as West Riffa Club . In 2002 the club was merged with Zallaq and was renamed the Bahrain Riffa Club. So far, the club has won the championship 11 times, most recently in 2005. In 2009, they narrowly missed the championship and finished second behind the Muharraq Club .
