Attendees
Al-Shabab returned to the Bahraini Premier League as champion of the Bahraini Second Division in 2016/17 after a two-year absence . The second climber, al-Ittihad , last played in the 2008/09 season in the highest Bahraini league. The two promoted teams replaced the two last-placed clubs in the 2016/17 season , the Bahrain Club and al-Hala . The Bahrain Club had to return to the Bahraini Second Division after just one year in the Bahraini Premier League. For al-Hala, the relegation meant the end of his eleven years of membership in the Bahraini upper house of football.
Although most clubs have their own stadium, the matches will be exclusively in the Bahrain National Stadium in Riffa , the Khalifa Sports City Stadium in Isa Town or al-Ahli Stadium in Manama instead.
