Attendees
The Bahrain SC returned after one year of abstinence as a master of Bahraini Second Division 2015/16 back to the Bahraini Premier League. The second newcomer, the al-Najma Club , last played in the top Bahraini league in the 2013/14 season.
The two newcomers replaced the last two clubs in the 2015/16 season , the Busaiteen Club and the Sitra Club . The Sitra Club had to return to the Bahraini Second Division after just one year in the Bahraini Premier League. For the Busaiteen Club, the relegation meant the end of its 17-year membership in the Bahraini upper house of football.
