The 2017 Bhutan National League was the sixth season of the top Bhutanese soccer league since it was founded in 2012. The season began on July 15, 2017 and ended on September 30, 2017. The defending champions were Thimphu City FC .

mode

The clubs played a double round-robin tournament , which resulted in a total of 10 games per team. The game was played according to the 3-point rule (three points per win, one point per tie). The table was determined according to the following criteria:

  1. Number of points scored
  2. Goal difference from all games
  3. Number of goals in all games

At the end of the season, the team with the highest points qualified for the first qualifying round of the AFC Cup 2018 .

Attendees

The Bhutan National League is basically composed of three clubs from the capital Thimphu and three clubs outside the capital. The teams from Thimphu had to qualify through the Thimphu League 2017. Ugyen Academy and Thimphu City FC have played in all seasons so far, while Paro United and Thimphu FC have been in the league since 2015. Phuentsholing City FC last played in the National League in 2013, while Transport United made their first appearance.
