The Cambodian League 2017 is the 13th season of the highest Cambodian soccer league since it was founded in 2005 and the 33rd competition for the Cambodian national championship. The season started on February 18 and is expected to end on December 3, 2017. The defending champion is Boeung Ket Angkor .

mode

The clubs play a double round tournament , which results in a total of 22 games per team. The game is played according to the 3-point rule (three points per win, one point per tie). The table is determined according to the following criteria:

  1. Number of points scored
  2. Goal difference from all games
  3. Number of goals in all games

At the end of the season, the team with the highest points qualifies for the play-off round of the AFC Cup 2018 . The club with the fewest points is relegated to the second-rate Cambodian Second League .

Kirivong Sok Sen Chey returned to the Cambodian League in 2016 after a year of abstinence as champion of the Cambodian Second League. The second promoted, Electricité de Cambodge , made it to the highest Cambodian league for the first time in the club's history. Due to the expansion of the first division from ten to twelve teams, there was no relegated team in the 2016 season.
