The Guam League 2016/17 was the 28th season of the highest Guamian football league since it was founded in 1990. The season began on August 10, 2016 and ended on April 25, 2017. The defending champions were Rovers FC .

mode

The clubs played a four round tournament , which resulted in a total of 16 games per team. Due to the odd number of teams, one team paused per game day. The game was played according to the 3-point rule (three points per win, one point per tie). The table was determined according to the following criteria:

  1. Number of points scored
  2. Number of points scored in direct comparison
  3. Goal difference from all games
  4. Number of goals in all games

At the end of the season, the team with the highest points qualified for the first qualifying round of the AFC Cup 2018 . There was no general relegation to the Guam Second Division .

Attendees

The two last-placed clubs of the 2015/16 season , the Southern Cobras and Sidekicks FC , were relegated to the Guam Second Division 2016/17. As a replacement, the newly founded Haya United FC was allowed direct entry into the Guam League. All games of the season took place, partly one after the other, at the GFA National Training Center in Dededo .
