Al Jazeera Mubasher , often also called Al Jazeera LIVE , is a news and sister station of Al Jazeera . It is based in Qatar , broadcasts in Arabic, and went on air on April 15, 2005. The station broadcasts events, conferences and parliamentary debates without commenting or editing them. In addition, the station employs translators who, if necessary, can also translate the live series into Arabic for foreign-speaking guests. Mubasher is the Arabic word for LIVE (as it is used in the sense of a television broadcast).

Al Jazeera Mubasher is the first broadcaster of its kind in the Arab television world. It is comparable to the American broadcaster C-SPAN and the German broadcaster Phoenix .

The station also operates a subsidiary station called Al Jazeera LIVE Egypt .
