al dente was the title of a cooking and game show that was presented every second Monday, alternating between 1 and 100, on SF 1 at 8 p.m. The show was produced by the Betty Bossi publishing house for Swiss television . The program was moderated by Sven Epiney , who was supported by Alberto Russo and the two chefs Andreas C. Studer and Sibylle Sager . Sibylle Sager was also the author of the scripts for the show.

concept

Al dente was a mix between a cooking show and a game show. Two (previously three) candidates competed against each other. They had to answer numerous questions about the kitchen and food and solve a practical cooking task. The two candidates with the most points made it to the final round, in which the candidates were served food and food with closed eyes. For every food guessed there were points; the person with the most points won the show.

The game sections were interrupted by the chefs Andreas C. Studer and Sibylle Sager, who each cooked a three-course menu in the studio's own kitchen. This consisted of a starter , a main course and a dessert .

The program always had a specific main theme that changed with each program. Most of the time, the choice was based on the current season, a certain country or a special cuisine. This topic then determined the game questions and the menu presented.

The last show was broadcast on December 27, 2010 after more than eight years. Before that, there were some specials with prominent candidates.

In April 2011, Ab in die Küche started as a new cooking show on SF, which was canceled after only five episodes.
