Sven Epiney (born January 14, 1972 in Naters ) is a Swiss television and radio presenter , editor and musician .

Life

Sven Epiney lived for the first two years in his native Naters and then moved with his mother to Sion and attended a French-speaking kindergarten there. In 1978 they moved to Bern , where he attended school. Epiney initially trained as a primary school teacher at the Lerbermatt teacher training college in Köniz and then studied law for six semesters at the University of Bern . Epiney split from his then boyfriend in 2011 after a ten-year relationship. He has lived in Zurich with his partner Michael Graber for 7 years .

Media career

He began his media career at the age of 12 (1984). At that time he presented the children's program Lollipop on the Berner Radio Förderband. In 1988 he finally presented the daily program on the same radio .

In 1993 he was invited by Swiss television to a successful casting for the “TAF” daily television and thus joined the young team of moderators. For this program he designed the “TAF” star category . He remained the presenter of this program until 1996. From 1996 to 2003 he conceived and moderated the shows “ Messe live” from the fairs OLMA , Züspa , Muba and BEA .

In 1996 he hosted the comedy telecast subtleties and from 1997 to 2000, the youth game show blockbuster , a copy of Super Grips (1988-1995) of the Bavarian Radio . From 2006 to 2008 he hosted the music show The Biggest Swiss Hits on SF 1 and the 2007 Miss Switzerland elections .

From 2004 to 2010 he presented the quiz cooking show al dente on Swiss television, and from 2005 to 2012 the daily game show 5 against 5 , which is based on the concept of family duels.

Since December 19, 2012, he has regularly moderated the Radio SRF 1 morning program with the quiz “Morgenstund has gold in its mouth”. Between five and nine o'clock he adds Elena Bernasconi and Michael Brunner to the morning team.

In 2013 he was the presenter of the first season of The Voice of Switzerland . Together with Viola Tami , he also moderates the second season in spring 2014.

Since 2011 he has moderated The Big Decision Show , which every year determines the Swiss representative at the Eurovision Song Contest .

In 2015, he was the fourth member of the jury for the third season of The greatest Swiss talents .

In 2015 he was next to Denise Biellmann as a candidate in the quiz show Spiel für dein Land and landed in second place.

From 2016 to 2018 he moderated the quiz show Wir mal vier on SRF.

In 2019 he was in the SRF dance show May I ask? seen with dance coach Mary Jane Parlett.

Since 2019, he has been moderating the program Wer Wannt wo? On SRF . . Five players try to guess which home suits which person. The audience can guess.

Musical career

Sven Epiney took private piano lessons from 1977 to 1981, from 1982 to 1987 at the conservatory in Bern and from 1988 to 1992 at the teachers' college . In 1996 he founded the band Pure Pleasure together with Radio 24 presenter Reto Peritz . The first single Angel in Disguise from 1996 peaked at 44th place in the Swiss charts on January 12, 1997. In 1996 this band was the opening act for Backstreet-Boys -, The-Kelly-Family -, Boyzone -, Peter-André - and DJ Bobo concerts in Switzerland.

In 1997 the second single All Through the Night followed and in 1999 the third single Time of Your Life . These singles did not reach any positions in the Swiss charts.

Awards / prizes

In 2004 he won the Prix ​​Walo (Swiss Showbiz Award) in the “Audience Favorite” category and in 2007 together with the editorial team in the “Best TV Production” category. In 2006 he won the TELE Award for best television presenter and in 2007 he was awarded the “ glanz & gloria Award” as a crowd favorite.
