Supergrips was a quick guessing game that was produced by Bayerischer Rundfunk from 1988 to 1995 and broadcast on Bavarian television and in other third-party programs (claim: The fast game for bright minds). In the game, two different Bavarian cities and their students competed against each other. In doing so, it was necessary to conquer hexagonal fields in your own color by answering questions of the form “Which K is ...?” In order to connect two opposite banks of your own color. This was usually followed by a fast guessing round with a shorter time limit. A special feature of the program was that one student from one school always played against two students from the other school. After several rounds won, there were increasingly valuable material prizes to choose from or the so-called surprise bag , behind which prizes from scooters to a Citroën 2CV were hidden.

The program was first moderated by Frank Laufenberg , who also published a quiz book for the program, and then by Ingo Dubinski . Directed by Hans-Klaus Petsch ; His specialty were the short feature films at the prices, in which he was often seen himself very self-deprecatingly. Radio presenter Bettina Stummeyer , later Anke Böhm , presented the award .

Since 1992 the Mitteldeutsche Rundfunk has been involved as a production partner. From then on, schools from Saxony-Anhalt, Saxony and Thuringia also took part in the program.

The graphics were designed by an Amiga home computer and projected onto a screen for all to see.

A total of 448 programs were produced. Frank Laufenberg moderated the first 248 and Ingo Dubinski the remaining 200.

There was a similar show on Swiss television SF2 . It ran as blockbusters from 1997 to 1999 and was moderated by Sven Epiney . By the way, Blockbusters is also the name of the original version, which ran on American television from 1980 to 1982 and 1987.
