Alabina is a French - Israeli musical group consisting of the female vocalist of the lead singer Ishtar and the band Los Niños de Sara, who provide the male voices and the music.
history
The name of the music group comes from Arabic and has two meanings: "Let's go!" And "God is among us". The group cultivates a mix of music as practiced in the Middle East and consists of Arabic, French, Hebrew and Spanish elements.
Ishtar
The lead singer Ishtar (Hebrew אישתאר) was born on November 10, 1968 as Eti Zach in Kirjat Ata near Haifa in Israel and grew up there. Her parents are Moroccan and Egyptian Jews . Her grandmother was a singer herself and sang oriental folk music under the name Nora. Eti Zach's father was also a musician. She and her sister grew up in an Arabic-speaking environment in Israel. Eti Zach had twins in 2007. Ishtar speaks and sings in Arabic , Hebrew , French , Spanish and English . She says of herself that she also “speaks half Moroccan”. In 2009 the Duo Yahad ("Together"), composed of Ishtar and the Israeli singer Kobi Peretz , was successful. Ishtar received the “Big Apple” Diamond Award in New York in November 2009.
