Alain Frast

Alain Frast (born September 20, 1964 in Luxembourg , † June 11, 2010 in Esch an der Alzette ) was a Luxembourg journalist and politician.

Life

Frast got involved early on in the youth of the Christian Social People's Party and the LCGB . However, he gained fame in his function as a journalist at Radio Télé Luxemburg (RTL), later as an editor at Radio DNR . In 2007 he became a member of the Alternative Democratic Reform Party , where he worked as its parliamentary group spokesman and press attaché. In March 2010 he was elected District President of the South.

In the general election of June 7, 2009 , he was the coordinator of the entire election campaign for his party, where he also ran as a candidate. With 5431 votes, he made it to sixth place on the list and narrowly missed his seat after Tania Gibéryen renounced her seat in parliament and Fernand Kartheiser replaced her.

Frast openly came out as homosexual . In the area of ​​homosexuality, he campaigned for more rights for same-sex couples. On June 11, 2010, he succumbed to lung cancer, which he had learned of only three months earlier. He documented his last days on his personal website.
