Alain Nkossi Konda

Alain Nkossi Konda is a producer, singer and songwriter. Nkossi stands for “lion” in the Kikongo language . He was born in the Central African Democratic Republic of the Congo and grew up in New York City . Alain Nkossi Konda lives in Immenstadt .

Alain Nkossi Konda describes his music as "21st Century Tri-Cultural Pop". His pieces - a mix of funk , soukous , reggae and pop - are usually at least trilingual. The texts mostly use the languages English , Lingala (an African language) and French .

With the support of his father, who worked as a diplomat for a UN development program, Alain Nkossi Konda began to sing at a young age. In 1998 he released his first album "Adiyoyo Mona Lisa". A year later he was the first artist Harry Belafonte signed for his new company Niger Records / Palm Pictures (in collaboration with Island Records founder Chris Blackwell ).

In the spring of 2001, Konda and his partner Jim Savitt founded their own production company under the name "Afrikool", which was intended to promote cultural exchange between African, American and European artists. Konda wrote numerous songs and became co-producer of "World Voice 2002", a project that was developed in collaboration with promoter Rick Garson . The Spoken Word album featured artists such as Britney Spears , * NSYNC and Aerosmith performing prayers from Pope John Paul II .

Konda took part in songwriting competitions in the United States and Great Britain and was recognized in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest and the Unisong International Songwriting Contest . He contributed a cover version of "I Want To Be Your Boyfriend" to the Ramones Tribute Compilation "All Good Cretins Go To Heaven", which was released in March 2005. He took over the preproduction and arrangements for "Live Your Dream, the official 2005 World Nordic Championship" and produced the Bob Marley tribute album "A Timeless Vibrations" in the same year. Other albums on which Konda worked include "Valley of Ethnic Dreams", "21st Century Storytellers", "Reggae / Ragga Dreams" and "My Storm".
