Alamo, Nevada is a small town in Lincoln County in the US state of Nevada . It is located on US Route 93 and is the largest town in the Pahranagat Valley .

The place includes farmland with a total area of ​​78.4 km². In 2010 the Alamo had 1,080 inhabitants. The population density is 14 inhabitants / km². The main source of income is agriculture.

Alamo (Spanish for poplar) was founded in July 1901 by the four farmers Fred Allen, Mike Botts, Bert Riggs and William Stewart from Fredonia, Arizona . The post office was inaugurated in 1905. The place got its name from the poplar floodplains in the area.

Three kilometers west of the Alamo is the Alamo Landing Field, the closest civil airfield to Area 51 . Approximately four miles south is Pahranagat Lake , the Alamo water reservoir, popular spot for anglers and waterfowl hunters and the core of the Pahranagat National Wildlife Refuge, a government-designated nature reserve.

Between Rachel and the Alamo lies the Alamo megabreccia , an impact crater that was created by a car explosion in the late Devonian .
