Alan Bruce Neilson (born September 26, 1972 in Wegberg , Germany ) is a former Welsh football player . The central defender , who often referred to as right -back has been called up, ran between 1992 and 1996 five times for the Welsh national team and now works in the coaching staff of the fifth division Luton Town .

During his playing career he played for Newcastle United , the Southampton FC , the FC Fulham , Grimsby Town (on loan), Luton Town, the FC Tamworth and last Salisbury City before a leadership role in the youth department in June 2008 Luton Town took . In the following year 2009, the club promoted him to Kotrainer and after the departure of Mick Harford he was briefly head coach of the "Hatters". In the summer of 2010, he resigned his assistant position and has since been part of the coaching staff as a so-called “First Team Development Manager”, generally responsible for management development, which includes both scouting and the special promotion of young talent.
