Alan Race

Alan Race (* 1951 in Stockton-on-Tees ) is an English theologian. Race was ordained a priest on October 10, 2007.

Live and act

Race is a student of John Hick . In 1983 he published his work Christians and religious pluralism , in which he developed the typology of exclusivism , inclusivism and pluralism , which has since become the basis of all religious theological discussions. In 1988 he edited the anthology Theology against the nuclear horizon . Race was Dean of Postgraduate Studies at St. Philip's Center and a priest at St. Philip's Church in Leicester. Today he is Rector of St Margaret's Church in Lee, London. In 2006 he received an honorary doctorate from Leicester University .

He is also the editor-in-chief of the international magazine "Interreligious Insight" published by the World Congress of Faiths (UK) and Common Ground (USA).
