history

Alba

In August 1968, Alba was founded by Franz Josef Schweitzer . Five years later, the company introduced the so-called “Berlin model” and set up colored recycling bins for glass or paper near households . The company has been recycling plastics in its own recycling facility since 1984.

With the introduction of the dual system in Germany , Alba became a contractual partner in 1990, initially in districts and urban districts . In 1998 Alba set up an underground supply and disposal system at Potsdamer Platz. Alba has been operating a recycling plant for plastics and other recyclable materials from the collection of the dual system since 2005. Alba also works with the Berliner Stadtreinigungsbetriebe (BSR): since 2006, the group has been operating the first of two systems for mechanical-physical stabilization (MPS).

Since 1991 Alba has been the name sponsor of the basketball team Alba Berlin, which emerged from the BG Charlottenburg .

Interseroh

In 2008 there was a cooperation between Interseroh and the brand "Alba" under the umbrella brand Alba Group. In 2011, the Interseroh shareholders agreed to a domination and profit and loss transfer agreement between Alba Group plc & Co.
