Albert Bertelsen

Albert Bertelsen (born November 17, 1921 in Vejle ; † December 11, 2019 ) was a Danish painter .

Bertelsen worked for Vejle Skiltefabrik for 25 years . Step by step he began to paint. His wife encouraged him to work as a freelance artist . Bertelsen's paintings are often kept in green tones and show abstract landscapes and people in a naive manner. The Faroe Islands and Norway are some of his favorite subjects. Portrayed people often refer to the artist's childhood. His art is inspired by the Danish CoBrA painter Henry Heerup .

Albert Bertelsen has illustrated many books, including fairy tales by HC Andersen .
