Life

Albert Caasmann's artistic work is inextricably linked with the success story of the traditional toy company Lineol, founded in 1906 by the entrepreneur Oskar Wiederholz in Brandenburg (Havel) . From 1909 Caasmann initially worked as a freelancer for Oskar Wiederholz and Lineol. After serving as a soldier in the First World War , Caasmann was the company's senior modeller and production manager from 1919 to 1952 . He designed over 600 diverse figures, such as B. soldiers, animals, Indians, knights, fairy tale characters, railway characters that looked very natural. His models were widespread among many children in the region. Caasmann spent a lot of time in the Berlin Zoo, where he modeled his animal models.

Caasmann worked as a freelance porcelain artist for the Philipp Rosenthal porcelain factory in Selb until the early 1920s. But he also created templates for a porcelain factory in Volkstedt.

The city of Brandenburg named a street after Caasmann.
